Are blogs worth your penny?

What Kind of Business are You?

Simply throwing a blog up on your business website or as a link on your website and waiting to see how popular it is isn’t the best first step in having a business site blog. You need to begin by determining the audience you are addressing with your business. Are they even blog readers? Most people are fairly aware of blogs and their place on the internet, but in relation to your business, do they even make sense? If your typical customers and site visitors are coming for new products or to make return purchases, chances are pretty good that a blog isn’t going to matter to them. When your site is setup to give your visitors new information, blogs might be a good way to package this information in a pleasing way.

money_tree-762130 Try to think about other websites that are in the same market as you. Do they have blogs? Do these blogs get a lot of comments? If so, that can mean that people are reading them enough to comment on the content – and that kind of interaction may be worth your time.

Google give HTC G1 as holiday bonus to Googlers

image-thumb434 If you work for Google, you will be getting a HTC G1 (Code named HTC Dream) dream phone as year end holiday bonus. What a good deal!! ^6^

Google did manage to at least make these handsets unlocked so that team members can use any carrier they would like, and it comes with a special edition of “droid’ cover. I wonder how does it look like?

Google has even attached a Q&A to the letter for her employee who has any more questions.

The full employee letter:

Googlers,

The holiday bonus is a Google tradition - it’s a great way to thank everyone for their hard work. In the past, we’ve done this in cash. This year, we’ve decided to give Googlers a different kind of present - a Dream phone (this is the same device T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) markets as the G1). We’re really excited about getting the phone to more Googlers in more countries, and also seeing all the cool new things you do with it.

Shipping these special edition phones in such a short time frame (they were designed especially for Googlers with a ‘droid’ on the back) and making sure they would work anywhere in the world was no small feat. So a big thank you to the Android and Legal teams for making this happen. While these phones do not have SIM cards, they are unlocked so they can be used with the network provider of your choice. Plus - thanks to more fancy footwork from the Android team - they’ll work immediately as WiFi devices!
