I want you for blogging

I’ve been blogging for about 2 months officially and I would be lying if i said that i never thought about making money online. When I first started blogging all i wanted was a channel for me to vent my day to day life on a consistent basis talking about things that influence me and the people closest to me.

When you start reading sites of fellow blogger’s chances are every 10 sites you go to your going to have 7 or 8 sites that talk about how much money they make out of blogging and you too can jump in the bandwagon. Some give you screen shots of their earnings and naturally anyone reading would look for tips on how you too can make the way some blogger’s make.Reality is that people will not throw money on your laps and what ever you say…Money does not fall from the sky (unless you win the lottery). And you know this better then me, rite ?? :)

Below is a MUST READ especially for young blogger like you and me, it’s about the truth of some money-making-blog jargons refuse to tell you:

(courtesy from 5xMom, she’s a Malaysian also :>)

1. A blog won’t make you money until several months (six months, bear minimum)

2.You have to appeal to the organic traffic

3. You cannot rely on your few friends and one or two regular visitors to make your blog grow. You need organic traffic.

4. Google Adsense won’t make you money. If you have only one blog, you probably need to wait a year. (usually, many bloggers’ enthusiasm dies off within 3 months)

5. No one will buy a text link ad from your site unless you already have rankings, i.e. that little green bar call Google PageRank.

6. You won’t get a PageRank until maybe 4-6 months after you start your blog and filled it with great contents and work hard on improving traffic and Google page rank(I’m still on 0 but I’ve got faith!)

7. Your traffic will remain pathetic for at least 6 months.

8. You will only earn peanuts during that time.

9. Blogging is very hard work.

10. You need a real job that pays real money. Only very few bloggers made it as probloggers. And you know what? Pro-blogger doesn’t exist. The few famous ones are some professionals who happened to be bloggers. They are in the industry, working in real jobs and they happened to blog.

My two cents : Work on the quality of your site. Content is the King, write as many original postings as you can! Design and appeal next and you need to have a sound back-end! All this you only achieve over time and if you don’t know…ASK! There are lots of nice people on the web who will ready to give you a hand only if you ask!

Bottom Line : Don’t lose your faith, keep blogging, always come back here, here and take a look at the above TEN refreshing facts as motivation to keep you blogging! :-D

Don't bother the posts below, but if you are free, why not?

  1. I can’t fire my blog now; I’m giving it a chance to grow….worth it?
  2. For a full time blogger, what blog-life balance really means?
  3. How to spot a blogger?
  4. Should you? Declare your monthly income from your blogging?
